10-Day Morocco Tour: Marrakech, Fez, Atlas Mountains, Sahara Desert, and El Oualidia
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Upon arrival in Marrakech, our driver will escort you to your hotel or riad for some rest. In the evening, enjoy an orientation tour with our driver, culminating at Djemaa El Fna. Be amazed by the dancers, snake-charmers, and storytellers. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: Guided Tour of Marrakech
After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour of Marrakech. Highlights include:
- Menara Gardens: A stunning pool surrounded by flowers.
- Koutoubia Minaret.
- Saadian Tombs.
- Dar Si Said Museum: Featuring Berber arts and crafts.
- Bahia Palace.
Lunch will be at a local restaurant. Afterward, stroll through the colorful souks of Marrakech, ending the day with a sunset drink overlooking Jamaa El Fna Square. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Marrakech / Ait Benhaddou / Ouarzazate / Gorge Dades
After breakfast, travel through the High Atlas via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, reaching 2260 m above sea level. Enjoy scenic stops, including a tea break. Visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site featured in films like *The Gladiator* and *Lawrence of Arabia*. Continue to Ouarzazate, visiting the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios. Proceed through the Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley, arriving at Dades Gorge for sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at a traditional hotel.
Day 4: Gorge Dades / Tinghir / Merzouga
After breakfast, walk through the Dades Gorges before driving the Road of 1000 Kasbahs. Pass through Tineghier village and the Jewish Kasbah, reaching Todra Gorges for lunch. Continue to Merzouga via Erfoud. Enjoy mint tea and rest before a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi Dunes. Spend an unforgettable night in a Berber tent with dinner and entertainment under the stars. Dinner and overnight stay in a Berber tent.
Day 5: Merzouga / Midelt / Azrou / Ifrane / Fez
Rise early for a walk over the sand dunes and watch the sunrise near the Algerian border. Return to the hotel by camel for breakfast and a shower. Depart towards Fez, passing through Rissani and the Ziz Valley. Stop for lunch in Midelt. Continue through the Middle Atlas mountains and cedar forests, passing Ifrane, a ski resort built to resemble a Swiss village. Arrive in Fez in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Guided Tour of Fez
After breakfast, begin your guided tour of the medina, one of the world's largest walled cities. Explore narrow streets filled with fresh fruit, spices, Berber carpets, and art. Visit:
Quaraouiyine Mosque (859 AD) and Andalusian Mosque (860 AD).
Nejjarine Fountain.
Medersas (13th century).
Batha Palace: Now a museum of arts and traditions.
Chouwara Tanneries.
Souks, including Souk Attarine.
Bab Boujloud.
Mellah and the 17th-century Ibn Danan Synagogue.
King's Palace.
Dinner with entertainment at a nice restaurant.
Day 7: Fez / Chefchaouen / Rabat
After breakfast, depart towards Rabat. Visit the capital's highlights, including the Kasbah of the Udayas, Mohammed V Mausoleum, Hassan Tower, and the Royal Palace. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8: Rabat / El Oualidia
After breakfast, travel to El Oualidia, a beautiful and tranquil town known for its authenticity. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9: El Oualidia
Enjoy a full day at leisure in El Oualidia. Walk along the beautiful beach, where the sea meets the river. Lunch on shellfish and seafood. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10: El Oualidia / Casablanca
After breakfast, travel back to Casablanca. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world, open to non-Muslims. Depending on your departure time, transfer to the airport for the end of your trip.
